This fix also works for DB-2 Express-C 9.7 on Windows Vista (Premium Edition). I was looking everywhere for a fix, thank you so much for sharing!

Hi,

I’m using Window Vista Home Edition SP1. I’ve successfully installed DB2 Express 9.5 using the steps provided.

My problem is DB2DAS could not start. Therefore I cannot proceed creating the SAMPLE database. It’s also complaining that the SAMPLE database is already exist!..I can’t find it actually. I’ve tried “uncatalog database sample” but no luck.

I’ve check and verify that db2admin ID is attached to DB2ADMNS group. Hope you can shed me some light regarding this matter.

Hi,First tanx for solving my problem regarding installing DB2 but another problem,I have windows vista on my computer and i have same problem for installing add-ins for visual studio 2008,could you guid me please?

Really useful, indeed
I want to make a .NET application that connects to IBM BD2, but when I try to install the add-in for Visual Studio, I get the error:
“to install IBM add-ins for Visual Studio you must have IBM data server provider for .NET”. What should I do?

Thank you very much for this post, I was really stuck trying to install DB2 on Vista, this post finally got me completed in NO time. Wish this page was the official goto guide on IBM’s website.
